Stryker unveils new intracranial base catheter to streamline neurovascular access and therapy delivery

Stryker announced the launch of its AXS Lift Intracranial Base Catheter, a novel device developed to simplify neurovascular access and enhance delivery of interventional therapies. The catheter is engineered to provide both access and stable support from groin puncture to the cavernous segment of the internal carotid artery (ICA), reducing the need for multiple catheters during complex procedures.

Gaining access from the puncture site to the brain is a critical step in neuro interventional procedures. Traditionally, clinicians rely on multiple catheters to achieve the necessary balance of track ability and support. Recognizing the opportunity to streamline this process, Stryker collaborated with leading physicians to develop a new category of catheters: Intracranial Base Catheters.

"With the AXS Lift, we set out to address a common challenge in neurovascular access by offering a single device capable of providing both reach and reliable support," said John Daniel, vice president, R&D at Stryker. "Additionally, this catheter’s large lumen can facilitate the delivery of a wide array of therapies and techniques, expanding its utility across a range of neurovascular interventions. This innovation reflects our commitment to delivering solutions that help physicians perform procedures more efficiently and potentially reduce complications."
