Elma with MDR focus at Medica 2021

Singen, 11 November 2021|Elma Schmidbauer GmbH will exhibit at this year's Medica at booth D59 in Hall 10. The focus of this year's trade fair, which will take place in Düsseldorf from November 15th to 18th, 2021, will be on the Elmasteam 8 med and Elmasonic Med products, both of which are registered medical devices class 1 in accordance with the MDR 2017/745.*

The Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745, which came into force this year after a transitional phase, sets new quantitative and qualitative stand-ards in the medical and medical technology industry in Europe. Elma met these requirements at an early stage and offers its own product range in the field of ultrasonic cleaning with Elmasonic Med. The new Elmasonic Med units are registered as a medical products class 1 and have convincing new features. The powerful ultrasonic cleaning units are available in different sizes from 3 to 90 litres. They are used for the pre-cleaning of instruments, prostheses and implants in medical and dental practices, hospitals, CSSDs and dental laboratories, among others.**

The cleaning concentrates and ready-to-use cleaning solutions of the Elma Dent & Med Clean series are another important component that contribute decisively to efficient pre-cleaning and thus to perfect cleaning results and fewer returns.

Elmasteam 8 med perfectly complements Elmasonic Med. The powerful steam cleaning in the Central Sterile Supply Department is suitable for certain instrument groups, such as burrs, drills and HF instruments, which are often not sufficiently cleaned during the standard reprocessing process in the washer-disinfector (WD). With the Elmasteam 8 med steam cleaning device, instruments can be pre-cleaned and even stubborn soiling, such as burnt-on tissue on electrosurgical forceps, can be gently removed.**
