Philips has unveiled BlueSeal Horizon, the world’s first helium-free* 3.0T MRI platform, marking a major step forward in premium diagnostic imaging. Built for the most advanced clinical applications—from brain mapping and vascular assessment to cardiac, muscular, and joint evaluation—the new platform introduces a breakthrough magnet design that removes the need for helium refills, vent pipes, and complex siting requirements. This launch extends Philips’ helium-free technology leadership from 1.5T systems into the 3.0T category, bringing sustainable MRI to high-field imaging for the first time.
Reinventing 3.0T MRI with a fully sealed, helium-free magnet
BlueSeal Horizon builds on Philips’ more than 2,000 installed 1.5T BlueSeal systems, which have already saved over six million liters of helium. By permanently sealing just seven liters inside the cryogenic system, the new 3.0T platform removes the resource dependency traditionally associated with high-field magnets. Hospitals benefit from reduced installation complexity, shorter deployment timelines, and lower lifecycle risks—all while maintaining the high-resolution imaging performance expected from 3.0T systems.
Next-generation AI built directly into the MRI workflow
Designed as a full innovation platform rather than a single product, BlueSeal Horizon integrates advanced AI tools that streamline routine tasks and improve diagnostic precision. SmartPlanning expands automated exam planning to cardiac imaging, completing multi-step setup tasks in as little as 30 seconds. Real-time Scan Preview, powered by NVIDIA accelerated computing and Open Models, enables faster 3D reconstruction, noise reduction, and real-time parameter adjustment for more efficient image optimization.
SmartSpeed Precise uses dual AI technology to deliver scans up to three times faster with up to 80% sharper images, supporting clearer detail in busy clinical schedules. SmartReading adds cloud-based AI reporting tools directly on-system, particularly for neurology and oncology, enhancing interpretation quality and workflow efficiency.
