Qisda Group’s BenQ Healthcare and TinTin Drugstore Validate AI Smart Pharmacy and Drone Medical Logistics Model in Taiwan — More Than 100 Over-Water Flight Tests Completed

Qisda Group (2352.TW) companies, BenQ Healthcare and TinTin Drugstore (Norbel Baby Co., Ltd.; 6844.TW), have validated an integrated AI-enabled smart pharmacy and drone medical logistics model for regional and remote healthcare. In Taiwan, the project established an over-water medicine-delivery route between Donggang and Liuqiu Island, completing more than 100 flight tests and 1,700 kilometers of cumulative validation. The route reduced a medicine-pickup process that previously took about half a day to approximately 20 minutes. Dr. Cally Ko, President of Qisda Group, said the project reflects Qisda’s broader “AI Hospital & Wellness Ecosystem” strategy of applying AI to real-world healthcare challenges. By linking pharmacy operations, AI dispatch, 5G communications and autonomous logistics, the Group has validated a practical model in Taiwan for improving access to medicines in regional and remote communities — providing a foundation that can be adapted with local partners in new markets. AI and Autonomous Logistics Shorten the Last Mile in Regional and Remote Healthcare The “5G AI Pharmacy + Drone” project is supported by Taiwan’s National Development Council (NDC) and integrates an AI mission-dispatch and risk-assessment platform, 5G connectivity for real-time communications with the aircraft, and a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drone platform designed for sustained over-water operations. BenQ Healthcare leads the AI integration workstream, connecting pharmacy operations, flight planning and delivery execution in a single workflow. Harry Yang, General Manager of Qisda’s Medical Business Group, said time and distance remain major barriers to healthcare access in regional and remote communities. The project established a validated delivery route from TinTin Drugstore’s Donggang store on Taiwan’s main island to the Liuqiu health center, reducing a medicine-pickup process that previously took about half a day to around 20 minutes. The next phase in Taiwan is to broaden validation across additional healthcare settings and progress toward regular commercial operation. Inside the Technology: AI-Assisted Risk Assessment and Real-Time Flight Safety Each mission is planned through an AI mission-dispatch platform that performs pre-flight risk assessment and uses real-time image analysis during flight to identify obstacles, vessels, birds and other environmental conditions over open water. Combined with 5G communications and VTOL aircraft, the project has completed more than 100 test flights and 1,700 kilometers of cumulative over-water validation, establishing a repeatable delivery model between a main-island pharmacy and an offshore health center. Taiwan Field Validation Provides a Foundation for International Deployment Dr. Hsin-Kai Chou, the project’s principal investigator, said the project completed field validation with support from Taiwan’s National Development Council, met applicable pharmaceutical Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements and obtained special-project approval from Taiwan’s Civil Aeronautics Administration. In Taiwan, the next phase is to develop regular commercial routes for medical logistics. BenQ Healthcare has also begun discussions with government and healthcare stakeholders in Australia about how the Taiwan-validated model could be adapted to local regional and remote healthcare needs. Any deployment would be developed with local partners and aligned with applicable aviation, pharmaceutical-distribution and healthcare requirements. Having completed real-world field validation in Taiwan, the project now provides a reference model for healthcare systems seeking to improve medicine access across geographically dispersed communities. BenQ Healthcare plans to pursue international deployment through partnerships spanning drone hardware, software, communications and healthcare operations.
