AI ECG Triage Integrated into Blood Pressure Monitoring

Early detection of cardiovascular conditions remains a challenge in regions with limited access to specialist care, particularly in high-burden markets such as India. In this context, OMRON Healthcare has integrated ECG-enabled blood pressure monitoring with Tricog Health’s AI-based cardiac triage platform, Tricog CardioCheck (TCC).

Combining routine monitoring with cardiac screening
The integration connects OMRON Healthcare’s Complete™ blood pressure monitors, which include ECG functionality, with Tricog CardioCheck (TCC), a cloud-based cardiac analysis system. ECG data captured during routine blood pressure measurement is transmitted to the cloud and processed using AI algorithms.

Within approximately 10 seconds, the system generates a three-level risk classification, supporting rapid triage and clinical decision-making. This approach enables cardiovascular screening to be embedded into standard patient workflows without requiring separate diagnostic procedures.

Extending diagnostic capability beyond specialist settings
Results are delivered through a dedicated smartphone application designed for healthcare professionals. This allows front-line providers to assess patient risk levels in real time and determine whether further cardiology evaluation is required.

Such functionality is particularly relevant in settings where access to cardiologists and advanced diagnostic infrastructure is limited. By enabling initial risk assessment at the point of care, the system supports earlier identification of conditions that might otherwise remain undetected.

Addressing rising cardiovascular disease burden
Cardiovascular disease continues to represent a significant and growing healthcare challenge in India. The number of affected patients is projected to increase from approximately 110 million to 230 million by 2050, placing additional strain on healthcare systems.

At the same time, the availability of cardiology specialists and advanced testing facilities remains uneven, limiting early diagnosis and intervention. Integrating ECG analysis into routine monitoring provides a mechanism to expand screening coverage without requiring substantial infrastructure expansion.

Enabling earlier intervention through AI-driven triage
Conditions such as heart failure and myocardial infarction often develop without early symptoms, delaying diagnosis until complications occur. By identifying risk patterns through AI-based ECG analysis, Tricog CardioCheck (TCC) supports earlier referral and intervention.

This model aligns with broader shifts toward digital health infrastructure, where data-driven tools are used to extend diagnostic capabilities and improve care delivery efficiency. The combination of connected devices, cloud processing, and AI-based analysis enables scalable screening across distributed healthcare environments.

Deployment across Indian healthcare centres
The integrated solution is scheduled for rollout across health centers in India starting in April 2026. By embedding ECG analysis into widely used monitoring devices, the initiative supports a more proactive approach to cardiovascular care, with the potential to improve detection rates and reduce the burden of advanced disease.
